2010 NYSAR President Henry W. Fries

2010 President Henry W. Fries of White Plains, a REALTOR for more than 25 years, is the broker-owner of Henry W. Fries Real Estate in White Plains.

Fries has a long history of involvement with the Westchester County Board of REALTORS, serving as president in 1990 and as the Legislative and Political Council chair from 1998 to 2007.

Fries has chaired numerous committees and working groups at the state level including Article 12-A, budget and finance, commercial issues, commission protection, legislative policy forum, organizational planning, legislative policy and legislative steering. In 2006, he was recognized as NYSAR’s REALTOR of the Year.

At the national level, he has served as federal political coordinator for Congresswoman Nita Lowey for 10 years, and was FPC for former Congresswoman Sue Kelly. He serves on NAR’s Appraisal Committee and the REALTORS Commercial Alliance Committee. In addition, he was selected to serve as the first chair of the National Association of REALTORS Multiple Listing Service (MLS) Forum in 2005. He served on the board of directors from 1990-94, and has been serving as a director since 2007. He has been selected to serve on the Land Use, Property Rights and Environment and Public Policy Coordinating committees in 2010.

Active in his community, Fries served as Golden Bridge Chamber of Commerce president for 10 years, coached Little League and currently serves on the board of the Coalition of Business Leaders from Westchester County.

2010 NYSAR President-elect Nicholas Gigante

2010 President-elect Nicholas Gigante, a REALTOR for more than 30 years, is the president and broker/owner of RE/MAX Shores. The firm, which has offices in Massapequa and Oceanside.

He has served on the Long Island Board of REALTORS’ (LIBOR) Board of Directors since 1988, and served as LIBOR’s president in 1993. In 1994, he was honored as the local association’s REALTOR of the Year. Gigante has been a senior instructor since 1987, developing and teaching numerous courses for local boards across the state. In 2003, he began teaching the prestigious Graduate REALTOR Institute (GRI) courses for NYSAR.

Gigante serves on numerous committees and working groups at the state level including budget and finance, investment, real estate business services, legal action, legislative policy and sellers’ property condition disclosure. He has also served as chair of organizational planning, information management, legal action and education management. He served as NYSAR GRI Chapter president in 2006 and NYSAR Education Foundation president in 2007.

At the national level, Gigante has served on numerous committees and forums including board jurisdiction, multiple listing, education, federal housing and second-home and resort. In addition, he has served as a NAR director continuously since 2007, and also served as director in 1993.

Active in his community, Gigante serves as a donor and volunteer for Saint Rose of Lima, the Massapequa Chamber of Commerce, Ronald McDonald House, Vicardi Children’s Hospital, Toys for Tots and the Marty Lyons Foundation. In addition, he is a sponsor and donor for the Children’s Miracle Network Schnieder Children’s Hospital.

2010 NYSAR Secretary/Treasurer Susan Goldy

2010 Secretary-Treasurer Susan E. Goldy, CIPS, GRI, SRES, a REALTOR for more than 27 years, is the president of Susan E. Goldy, Inc. in Riverdale. The firm specializes in the sale of houses, condos and co-ops.

She served as the president of the Bronx-Manhattan North Association of REALTORS in 1996 and 1997. She was their Realtor of the Year in 1998 and was on NYSAR’s Realtor Honor Society in 1995 and 2001.

Goldy has served on or chaired numerous committees at the state level including budget and finance, executive, equal opportunity, IMF, legal action and organizational planning. She served on the board of directors for 14 years and is a REALTORS Political Action Committee (RPAC) Life Member. She directed one of NYSAR’s Housing Relief Teams after 9/11 and personally delivered checks to victim’s families. She also graduated from NYSAR’s Leadership Academy in 2008.

At the national level, Goldy has been active and currently serves on the Public Policy Operations Committee and the International Operations Committee. She will also serve as a NYSAR Director to NAR in 2010. In addition she has served as the Federal Political Coordinator for Congressman Eliot Engel of the 17th Congressional District for the past ten years.

Active in her community and borough, Goldy served on the Board of Directors for BOEDC (Bronx Overall Economic Development Corp.) and currently serves on other local boards including the Riverdale Neighborhood House. She was Principal For A Day in Community School District Ten.

As a business leader and long-time volunteer, Goldy has received many awards, including Citations of Merit from two Bronx Borough Presidents and Proclamations from the NYS Assembly, NYS Senate and City Council of New York honoring her community service.
