Syracuse REALTOR Daniel J. Hartnett inaugurated as NYSAR president

Albany – February 6, 2009 – Daniel J. Hartnett of Syracuse took the oath of office Monday, Feb. 2, as the 2009 president of the New York State Association of REALTORS (NYSAR) during the association’s inauguration ceremony, held in conjunction with its Business Meetings at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, NY. He will serve a one-year term in the post. 

Hartnett, a REALTOR for more than 27 years, is a broker with Hunt Real Estate ERA in Cicero, NY.

At the local level, Hartnett served as president of the Greater Syracuse Association of REALTORS in 2000 and secretary/treasurer in 1999.  He serves on numerous local board committees including the Executive Committee, Legislative Committee and Central New York Information Services (CNYIS) Forms Task Force. He was twice selected as his local association's REALTOR/Broker of the Year.

Hartnett serves on numerous committees at the state level including executive, budget and finance, housing opportunities, legal action, legislative policy forum, organizational planning and investment. He is a REALTORS Political Action Committee trustee.

Hartnett has served on the National Association of REALTORS Board of Directors, Housing Opportunities Committee and Professional Standards Committee. He served as a federal political coordinator to former Congressman Jim Walsh, and is currently FPC to Congressman Dan Maffei of the 25th Congressional District.

Active in his community, Hartnett serves on the board of directors for Home Headquarters, the board of advisors for The Salvation Army and the board of directors for the New York State Habitat for Humanity.
