Cuba REALTOR Linda Simons appointed as NYSAR Genesee Region vice president

Albany – February 6, 2009 – Linda Simons, GRI, of Cuba took the oath of office Monday, Feb. 2, as the 2009 Genesee Region vice president of the New York State Association of REALTORS (NYSAR) during the association’s inauguration ceremony, held in conjunction with its Business Meetings at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, NY.

Simons, a REALTOR for 20 years, is the principle broker and owner of Century 21 Unlimited in Cuba, NY. The 16-agent firm also has an office in Olean, NY. Simons holds a real estate license in the state of Pennsylvania and is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS. She is a certified EcoBroker. 

In addition to her responsibilities with NYSAR, Simons is a member of the Western Steuben-Allegany Board of REALTORS (WSTAR), the Greater Rochester Association of REALTORS (GRAR), the Buffalo Niagara Association of REALTORS (BNAR), the Chautauqua County Association of REALTORS, the Cattaraugus County Association of REALTORS (CCAR) and Pennsylvania’s McKean County Association of REALTORS. Simons served as president of WSTAR in 1995, 1996, 1997, 2001 and 2006, and as a director in 1994. In 1996, Simons was named the local board’s REALTOR of the Year. She also served as the 2007-2008 chair of CCAR’s REALTORS Political Action Committee (RPAC).

Simons is an active member of NYSAR, having served as the 1997 chair of the Equal Opportunity Committee. In addition, she has served on numerous other committees including the Professional Standards Committee. 

Simons has been a real estate instructor since 2000, teaching both licensing and continuing education courses for GRAR, WSTAR and the Genesee Valley Board of REALTORS. In addition, she has authored two classes approved by the New York State Department of State for continuing education credit.

Active in her community, Simons serves as president of her local Lioness Club, is a member of Zonta, the Allegany Economic Development Advisory Committee and the Cuba Chamber of Commerce.
